Pretty Red Kitchen Island~
I could be considered Kim Possible #2... I mean I like to think of myself as a person who can do the impossible. I am the girl next door, never give up, do it yourself kinda person who never stops thinking of ways to make things better.
So the story behind this is really awesome actually. My really good friend Cathy has been looking for a kitchen island for over a year. A couple of years ago, her son and husband decided they were going to have one made for her. Unfortunately for them, I beat them to it. I had her email me a detailed picture of exactly what she wanted and this is what I came up with.
The original top was a bit out of sorts. So I removed and sanded a layer off to make it look brand new.
I added 3 coats of Red Banner Lacquer paint and a top coat. I also added a bit of detail to the piece with a cool stencil that I consider my signature stencil.
The end result is a fabulous addition to my friends kitchen for Christmas this year.
Here are just a few examples of some very inexpensive kitchen carts that can be made to look super expensive. You will be the "envy" of your neighborhood.
Thanks for reading my blog.
Have fun with a kitchen island for your own home today!
